Maggie the Builder

It is all about collecting, the Style Book and the Collection Book.
In order to add the 9th birthday disco look to your collection it has to be installed, but it is easy to get your favorite designs back via the Collection Book.  Anything you see in your Collection Book Maggie will build for you at any time for a reduced fee. Find the item you wish to replace the current item with, tap on it, pay and Maggie will install.

Here is a collection of tips from our farmers I copied over from our former group forum.

General Tips

  • Protect your diamonds, by going to settings and making sure the double click for using diamonds is marked.
  • Very important, get a Supercell ID for your farm, this way you can never lose your farm!
  • Occasionally, Tom, the little helper stands at the side of the road holding a yellow balloon ( i believe it is after a special sales offer). He holds this balloon for 15 minutes during that time the string gets longer and longer until he releases the balloon and it floats up and out of the picture. If you click on the balloon AFTER he releases it, you will receive a gift.
  • Before trading/buying make sure you have enough space in your barn
  • If a boat order is simply too much, or asks for cream, lobster tails, cheese, etc, you can send it on its way by clicking the 'cast off' button BEFORE you start loading any crates. In 4 hours the next boat will arrive. (Farmers in our neighborhood are not asked to fill any boat orders for dairy or fishing products!)
  • We can ask for help filling 3 boat crates, plus an additional 4th crate that can be filled only by farmers in your neighborhood. When helping it is best to fill this blue crate first.
  • When selling expensive items, they sell faster if sold in low numbers, such as 4 x 2 pink dresses instead of 1 x 8 dresses.
  • The fishing lure box can be upgraded to hold more lures and nets. Only fish caught with lure will be entered into your fish album, not the ones you catch with a net.
  • Before I found out about the double click confirmation, I had wasted my precious diamonds so many times to speed up harvesting, etc. Sadly the double click confirmation doesn't work for some things. I once wasted 30 diamonds for a pavilion I didn't need when I accidentally swiped my finger when I was scrolling to see what decorations were available.
  • Scroll through the decorations using your left finger, this helps prevent the accidental placing on your farm and therefore the purchase.
  • Does everybody know about the mystery boxes? Good things in them, but may not be worth it to spend the diamonds to unlock the boxes.
  • Also, when you decided to hire Tom and you have unlocked Jeweler, make sure to get at least 15 diamond rings. That way, you can get your diamonds back and u can sell them at RSS really well
  • Keep the 'wild' trees, they will change to fall colors in autumn and be snow-covered in Winter
  • You get a free newspaper Ad every 5 minutes (when the green checkmark appears on your item in Roadside Shop) If your items do not sell, pick one and, as soon as the green checkmark is there, click the button 'create Advertisement'.

Tips for town:

  • In the town, I have upgraded all of my buildings to hold the max number of townies (for me its 6). By doing this, I almost never have to have a townie without a place to go.
  • There is a treasure chest in town, it floats in the ocean, and it works just like the mystery toolbox on the farm.
  • I also try to upgrade my personal train to pick up more townies at other peoples farms. These townies only have one task and you get an item at completion. If I don't need the item, I sell it for the cash. These items are usually the bldg. and expansion materials.
  • If a townie requests too much for too little reward, send away by clicking the turn knob and dragging the train symbol onto the greedy townie.
  • You can set Town Visitors for Train Derby Tasks ahead of time:
  1. Serve all the visitors till they are in the final store but do not release them.
  2. Go to the town hall to see which visitors need to be served that are not in a store click on them and send them to a store.
  3. Go to the town hall to go directly to a visitor in a store and you can serve them, if you are unable to fill their order click on them one time, to serve other waiting visitors. This way you can avoid clicking a town visitor that is fully served till it times to do Train Task for Derby.
How to get coins:

  • Hire Tom's services, for 1 day is 15 diamonds, for 5 days is 60 diamonds, for 10 days is 100 diamonds. Have him search for high-value items: Diamond ring unlocks at level 40 and sells in your shop for 824 coins each. Blankets unlock at level 59 and they are the only item so far selling for over 1,000 coins, each at 1,098.
  • Tom will be available every 2 hours (without the use of a booster card), he finds items at a lower cost, so when you sell at the top price you always make a profit. He finds up to 9 of the item you send him for. You need to take advantage of Tom every 2 hours ( I send him 10 or 11 times per one day service and I set my timer lol), but don't lose too much sleep over it ;-)
  • You can spend real money to buy coins, but they seem way overpriced, compared to buying diamonds ( 50 for $2)

Plants and Axes

Over-planting your farm is easily done and a pain to undo. And what a waste of precious space.
  • If your farm is covered with dead plants, stop buying more plants. stop making honey. Stop production with fruit.
  • Collect axes and saws to clean up the farm. Axes and saws are a bonus from harvesting, pets, townies, in the red toolbox. (hire Tom, see below*)
  • Build up a supply of axes and saws.
  • Only plant as many plants as you need. Harvest only when you need it.
  • Buy all the fruit you can get in the paper.
Suggestions:

  • Manage the plants by keeping a small group of each variety separate just for harvesting.
  • Start out with just 7 apple trees and you may realize that is all you need. Over time you can plant more, but they are most likely for decoration and then harvest only if you absolutely must.
  • As soon as one of the 7 apple trees is dead it gets replaced. Same with the other varieties
  • The honey tree has 4 beehives and 7 ot 8  honey plants. That is all you ever need. It has something to do with the time the bees need to fill the hives and just sit on the tree looking happy.
  • If you don't have an ax, don't harvest!
  • The easiest way to build up your supply of axes is to ask your neighborhood farmers. You can also spend 15 diamonds and hire Tom the helper for 1 day. Send him every 2 hours to bring you 9 axes each time. 90 axes will give you a nice cushion to work with.
